Where I am now

Seven years of robotics turned into embedded and control work: a hydroponic control system that took Gold at I2ASPO, and a motor rig I tuned down to 0.11% error on hardware. That same habit — build it, measure it, ship it — now runs Studiowebsite.id, the web studio I founded and sell for myself. What I'm working on next is bringing AI properly into how I build, rather than just how I think.

Both built from components rather than modules. Both proved with measurements rather than a video of it spinning.

Closed-Loop DC Motor Speed Control

A full H-bridge built from discrete parts — four MOSFETs (IRF9540 P-channel, IRF540N N-channel) with BD139 gate drivers, freewheeling diodes and a snubber capacitor. ESP32 firmware running 20 kHz PWM and 4× quadrature encoder decoding through dual-channel interrupt service routines, giving 880 effective pulses per revolution.

Plant identified as G(s) = 2.501 / (0.0498s + 1) from serial data in MATLAB. Both Ziegler-Nichols variants were invalid here — no measurable dead time, and a single real closed-loop pole makes sustained oscillation impossible — so tuning came from Simulink PID Tuner, trading settling time for noise robustness. The two highlighted blocks are where the work was.

AUDROS — Hydroponic Nutrient & pH Control

Competition project · 2023 · Gold Medal, I2ASPO (IoT category)

An ESP32 system that reads TDS, pH and DS18B20 temperature, then drives DC dosing pumps through relays to hold a hydroponic reservoir in range. Local alerts over a 16×2 I2C LCD and buzzer; remote monitoring through Blynk. Dosing was calibrated against lettuce requirements — pH 6.0–7.0 and 560–840 ppm — after benchmarking mineral, well and municipal water.

Rejected at proposal stage by BRIN and by an international competition in Malaysia. I entered the same system twice more: 2nd place at PNB IT 2023, then Gold at I2ASPO 2023.

A studio for restaurants, SMEs and property developers who need a site that actually works, not a template with their logo on it. I handle the whole chain myself: scoping, design, build, deployment, and finding the clients in the first place.

A car upholstery workshop in Surabaya, running since 2010. The site puts the full price list out in the open, shows materials and colours, a before-and-after portfolio, and routes every visitor to WhatsApp, where the workshop actually closes its jobs.

Guests pick a table from an interactive floor plan with live availability, and staff manage it all from an admin dashboard. Double bookings are blocked at the database level, not just hidden in the interface.

Technical SEO overhaul

Structured data, a proper sitemap, images cut by 76% and CSS by 38%, scripts and fonts loaded without blocking the page. Not glamorous, but it is the part clients never see and always benefit from.

Two months of using it as a thinking partner

For Studiowebsite.id I've used AI mainly to think out loud — shaping demo site concepts, scripting and editing content, working through ad targeting and how to follow up with leads that go quiet. Useful, but shallow. It was a sounding board, not part of the build.

First output is a draft, never the answer

Across the demo sites and the content work, nothing shipped on the first response. The value sits in the second, third and fourth pass. Treating the first output as finished is where most people get burned.

I recently started paying for a Pro subscription out of my own pocket, because the free tier capped how far I could push it. The next stretch is deliberate: moving from asking AI things to building workflows that run without me. This section will change as that does.
